HoLa Hora Latina Sponsors High School Essay Contest

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, HoLa Hora Latina in Knoxville is sponsoring an essay contest for high school students.

The topic for submissions is "A Hispanic person I admire," and students can write 300-500 words in English or Spanish. The deadline for essay submissions is Sept. 9, and the top three essays will receive prizes. Submit via e-mail at holahoralatina@yahoo.com.

HoLa Hora Latina is a volunteer-based art, culture and education not-for-profit organization whose mission is to help encourage a sense of place among Latinos in the city and to strengthen relationships between Latinos and the community at large.
